LANSING — State Rep. Jewell Jones (D-Inkster) will be attending the 2018 Forbes Under 30 Summit in Boston this week. The annual summit brings together over 7,000 influential entrepreneurs, visionaries and change-makers to discuss the impact young people have on the nation and the world at large.
“As Michigan’s youngest state representative, I have faced my fair share of doubters and naysayers,” said Rep. Jones. “I know firsthand how hard it can be for young people to stay motivated in politics when they are constantly told to ‘wait their turn.’ I’m grateful to be attending this summit and for the opportunity to meet other people that are just as passionate as I am about making a difference, and who recognize that the future is ours to create.”
Rep. Jones will join other political leaders in recounting their experiences of facing and overcoming adversity while forging careers as young people in law and policy.
