LANSING — State Rep. Donna Lasinski (D-Scio Township) honored fallen Detroit Fire Department Firefighter Kevin Vance Ramsey of Dexter today during the state House of Representatives’ annual Sept. 11 ceremony. Rep. Lasinski read Mr. Ramsey’s name during the ceremony that honors first responders who died in the line of duty the previous year and those lost in the 2001 attacks. Mr. Ramsey’s wife, Amy, was in attendance as he was honored during the ceremony.
“It was truly an honor to recognize the bravery and fearlessness of Mr. Ramsey during today’s ceremony,” Rep. Lasinski said. “He is sorely missed, not only by his family and the Detroit Fire Department, but by both the Detroit and Dexter communities as a whole. He touched many lives through his courageous service, and we are all forever grateful. Today was an important reminder that we must always make time to honor those who sacrifice everything, day in and day out, for our safety and well-being.”
