Legislative Update

Budget

Members of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees have been working on budget negotiations with the aim of completing next year’s budget by June. You can learn all about the ins and outs of the budget process by going to the State Budget Office website.

One of my favorite state resources illustrates very clearly where our state monies come from and where they are spent. Please let my office know if you would like a hard copy of this poster to better understand how our state revenue and budget are distributed.

As budget negotiations continue, please know that I will be striving to ensure we Michiganders have high-quality schools, passable roads and affordable college for our children, businesses and families. If you have budget priorities you would like to share with me, please don’t hesitate to email or call my office.
