LANSING — State Rep. Yousef Rabhi (D-Ann Arbor) was joined on the Michigan House floor this evening by Washtenaw County Commissioner Alicia Ping (R-District 3) as Gov. Rick Snyder delivered his annual State of the State address. Rep. Rabhi served on the Washtenaw County Commission from 2011 until his election to the Michigan House of Representatives. He also escorted various state officers onto the floor for the address.
“I am honored to have my former colleague Commissioner Ping as my guest tonight as we learn what the governor’s priorities will be for Michigan in the next year,” Rep. Rabhi said. “Despite our different party affiliations, Commissioner Ping and I were able to work together for the good of the county and enact several positive policies for the people of Washtenaw County. As Ann Arbor’s new representative, I want to continue the practice of reaching across the aisle to create policies that will benefit everyone in our state.”
