LANSING — Michigan House Democratic Floor Leader Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) named state Rep. Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills) Assistant Democratic Floor Leader for the remainder of the 2015-16 legislative session. Rep. Greig replaces former Rep. Derek Miller, who recently resigned after being appointed to serve as the Macomb County Treasurer.
“Rep. Greig has shown herself to be a forward-thinking leader in the Democratic caucus here in Lansing, and has brought a fresh perspective to many issues facing the Legislature,” Singh said. “I have no doubt her tireless work for the people of her district and Michigan will continue in her new role, as she becomes a vital member of my team.”
Rep. Greig joins Reps. Gretchen Driskell (D-Saline), LaTanya Garrett (D-Detroit) and Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield) as Assistant Democratic Floor Leaders.
“I came to Lansing to help the people of Michigan get the best opportunities they could while pushing for fair legislation, and this new role will help me further that goal,” Greig said. “We have a great group of legislators in leadership already, and I am proud to add my experience to the team for a brighter future for the people of Michigan.”
