LANSING — State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) announced today that he has accepted an appointment to the House Committee on Energy Policy. Rep. Sneller will fill the seat of the late state Rep. John Kivela (D-Marquette), who passed away in May.

“I am grateful to Democratic Leader Sam Singh and Speaker Tom Leonard for appointing me to this critically important committee,” Rep. Sneller said. “This appointment is especially meaningful to me as more people are becoming engaged in our state’s energy future. We must continue to balance our need to generate clean, efficient energy with our desire to create and retain jobs and businesses in our state. I know that this committee has seen significant bipartisan success in previous sessions, and I look forward to doing all I can to keep Michigan moving toward a brighter energy future.”

Rep. Sneller represents the 50th House District, which includes the cities of Grand Blanc and Burton, as well as Grand Blanc and Mundy townships. In addition to the House Committee on Energy Policy, he currently sits on the House Committees on Transportation and Infrastructure, Agriculture, and Financial Liability Reform.
