GRAND RAPIDS — State Representative Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) will take part in a Habitat for Humanity of Kent County “Women Build” project at 307 Robey Place SE in Grand Rapids on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The Women Build program is designed to teach women leadership and construction skills while addressing the problem of substandard housing in the community. The house under construction will be purchased by a single mother in need of a new home after her daughter was hospitalized because of lead poisoning.
