Last week, the Michigan House of Representatives held its annual 9/11 Memorial ceremony. In addition to commemorating those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, the observance honors first responders lost in the line of duty in the past year and those who courageously serve now to keep our communities safe. This year, Detroit Fire Chief James Harris joined Rep. Stephanie A. Young for the event.
Rep. Young said: “Thank you to Chief Harris for attending this ceremony with me. As we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, we also uplift those currently serving. Thank you to all police officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians and military personnel who work to keep our communities safe.”
