LANSING — State Rep. Yousef Rabhi (D-Ann Arbor) was sworn into office along with the rest of his colleagues today to mark the first day of session of the 99th Legislature.

“It is such a privilege to be sworn into this body, and I am extremely honored that my constituents trust me to be their voice in Lansing,” Rabhi said. “I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work fighting for the issues that matter most to Washtenaw County residents and all of Michigan. We have a long road ahead of us to tackle issues such as public education, equity, our environment and making sure that our economy works for everyone. But I am confident that by working together with my colleagues and the people of this great state, we will be able to move Michigan forward.”

Rep. Rabhi was joined by his parents and girlfriend. He represents Michigan’s 53rd House District, which includes parts of the city of Ann Arbor and portions of Ann Arbor, Pittsfield and Scio townships.
