LANSING, Mich., Sept. 28, 2022 — The Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) announced that 49 small manufacturers around Michigan have been awarded a total of over $1 million to help them adopt Industry 4.0 technologies. RSI Manufacturing in Muskegon — a company that offers well-engineered manufacturing solutions — is among the manufacturers being awarded funds. In response to the announcement, state Rep. Terry Sabo (D-Muskegon) issued the following statement:

“I want to give a huge congratulations to RSI Manufacturing for being awarded a $25,000 technology grant. These funds will bring even more technological innovation and economic diversity to Muskegon. This is all-around fantastic news for our community and growing economy.”

The Michigan Strategic Fund approved $3 million in awards for six nonprofit organizations to administer the implementation grants statewide. In addition, these organizations were tasked with promoting existing statewide resources to support Michigan small manufacturers with Industry 4.0 awareness and preparedness. Grants will be reimbursement-based and will cover up to 50 percent of eligible technologies, including additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, robotics and automation, and more.
