LANSING, Mich., April 27, 2023 — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced 120 new jobs with A.G. Simpson (AGS) in Sterling Heights today. Michigan secured these new investments and jobs over several other competing states. After the announcement, state Rep. Nate Shannon (D-Sterling Heights), chair of the House Transportation, Mobility, and Infrastructure Committee, issued the following statement:
“Today’s news is a win on two fronts — mobility and the economy. These investments show Michigan’s continuing commitment to future mobility and the electrification of cars. It also benefits Sterling Heights by boosting our local economy and creating workforce opportunities. This project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $20 million and create 120 good-paying jobs to advance auto manufacturing and future mobility. I applaud this announcement as just the latest step toward a better Michigan.”
