LANSING, Mich., March 24, 2022 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 565 today, putting billions of dollars to work in communities across the state. State Rep. Nate Shannon (D-Sterling Heights) voted in support of the bill, highlighting the more than $72 million for water infrastructure in Macomb County. Shannon issued the following statement:

“Last summer, torrential rains flooded Southeast Michigan, causing irreparable damage to homes and businesses across the region. The bipartisan investments in this bill give us the tools to make sure it never happens again. For too long, underinvestment in infrastructure has left our communities susceptible to disasters and our roads and bridges in disrepair. I’m proud to say we’re reversing that trend.”
