EAST LANSING – State Representative Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) released the following statement in reaction to the Supreme Court’s ruling on birth control coverage in the Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores case:
“The Supreme Court’s decision to allow the religious beliefs of private corporations to trump the medical needs of women is deeply disappointing and very troubling. This ruling takes decisions about health care away from women and their doctors. Hard to believe that access to contraception is not a fundamental right in 2014.”
