State Representative Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) released this statement following Judge Steven Rhodes’ decision on the Detroit Bankruptcy proceedings.

“I believe that the city of Detroit will emerge as a much stronger city as a result of this settlement. We have to remember that stability in Detroit is important not only to the economic vitality of Southeast Michigan, but to the entire state. I’m pleased that we were able to work in a bipartisan fashion to pass the Grand Bargain, which undoubtedly was key to the outcome of the settlement. I hope that we can use that cooperation as a model to work form in the upcoming legislative session.”
