LANSING — State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) introduced House Bill 5437 this week to expand the Michigan Liquor Control Code to include the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour Champions Tournament in the list of sporting events to be issued a national sporting event liquor license through 2025. Sneller previously sponsored Public Act 110 of 2018 that issued the association the liquor license through 2020.
“This event has been an incredible opportunity for the Grand Blanc community,” said Sneller. “Partnerships like this bring money and jobs to our local communities, providing much-needed economic boosts, and we need to do all we can to ensure their continued cooperation and success.”
The PGA Tour and Ally Financial debuted the Ally Challenge in 2018 at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc. Sneller’s bill would help encourage the association to continue their partnership with the Club into the future.
