LANSING — State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) had his first House Bill signed into law yesterday. House Bill 5190 — now Public Act 110 of 2018 — would expand the Michigan Liquor Control Code to include the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) Tour Champions Tournament in the list of sporting events to be issued a national sporting event liquor license.
“Encouraging this tournament to return to Grand Blanc will help boost our local economy as tourists shop in and bolster the sales of our area’s small businesses,” Sneller said. “I am committed to making life better for Genesee County residents, and that includes building opportunities for our small businesses and helping working people to succeed. I am grateful to see my bill become law, and appreciate the support of this meaningful legislation.”
The PGA Tour Champions and Ally Financial will be debuting The Ally Challenge at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc the week of Sept. 10-16, 2018. The PGA Tour held an annual Buick Open event at Warwick Hills in Grand Blanc for 45 years through 2009.
