LANSING — The House Committee on Local Government took testimony today on House Bill 4573, introduced by state Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton), which would allow townships to establish a special assessment ordinance for mosquito abatement. The bill is a response to the mosquito problem that Mundy Township has experienced for years. Recently, it has begun to address the issue by spraying throughout the township, which cost $150,000 in its first year alone.

LANSING — State Rep. Tim Sneller (D-Burton) hosted Burton Chief of Police Thomas Osterholzer today during the state House of Representatives’ annual Sept. 11 ceremony. The ceremony is held in remembrance of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and honors the sacrifices of both current service members and first responders from Michigan, as well as those who died in the line of duty over the previous year.

FLINT — State House and Senate Democrats announced today their plan to stop prescription drug price spikes in Michigan.
