Muskegon Public Schools receive Future Proud Michigan Educator EXPLORE grant
MUSKEGON, Mich., June 6, 2024 — The Michigan Department of Education announced today that Muskegon Public Schools will be receiving a Future Proud Michigan Educator EXPLORE grant. This grant is intended to financially assist students who are interested in pursuing a career in education by providing $10,000 per school building. Following the announcement, state Rep. Will Snyder (D-Muskegon) released the following statement:
“This grant will help ease the burden of those aspiring to have careers in education by removing roadblocks they may face on their journey to becoming a teacher. Educators play an essential role in the lives of their students. It is crucial that we offer all resources available to support prospective educators as they move into the workforce, especially as we continue to face the ongoing teacher shortage. I am thrilled to see this investment in our schools and look forward to supporting the accomplishments of our future educators.”
