LANSING, Mich., Jan. 26, 2022 — Today, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer delivered her fourth State of the State address from Detroit Diesel. Her remarks presented plans that would lift the income of hardworking families, lower costs for senior citizens, and continue to grow Michigan’s economy. In response, State Rep. Bill Sowerby (D-Clinton Township) issued the following statement:

“Gov. Whitmer laid out an agenda that will help all Michiganders, and I look forward to working with her to make those plans a reality. I’m particularly pleased with her continued push to repeal the pension tax to help lower costs for seniors and to restore the Earned Income Tax Credit which would go a long way to help working families. This plan of action shows we are ready to tackle the issues that Michiganders care about the most.”
