“The Metro Times report of a Facebook group promoting hate and misogyny was deeply disturbing. Any violence – through thought, word or deed – against women, people of a particular faith, elected leaders, and citizens is unacceptable, especially when it is done to attack and ignite tension in the community.
“As a representative serving one of the most diverse communities in Michigan and a long time advocate for bringing people together across religious, cultural and ethnic differences, I look forward to working with other elected leaders, law enforcement, the interfaith community and people across the region to foster understanding. We must ensure every Michigander feels safe in their home, house of worship and place of work, and fight to end the fomentation of hate on social media.”
