LANSING, Mich., May 15, 2024 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed its fiscal 2024-25 budget last week. It delivers on the pledges that House Democrats made to bring stability to local economies and hometowns with thoughtful investments in education and infrastructure. Specifically, the budget includes an increase in funding for students and investments in projects like replacing lead water lines in low-income areas across the state. After voting on the House budget, Majority Floor Leader Abraham Aiyash (D-Hamtramck) issued the following statement:

“House Dems are keeping our promise to support the people of our state. The funding included in the House budget for education and building our infrastructure illustrates that we’re prioritizing tomorrow’s leaders and making sure that every resident today has safe, prosperous communities — right where they live.”
