“I’m thoroughly disappointed that the House passed legislation without Democratic input or support that will have a profoundly negative impact on teachers and their classrooms. Despite the claims of those in support of the legislation, House Bill 4647 does nothing to address the unfunded liability in the legacy retirement system and shifts cost and risk away from the state and onto local districts, causing even more money to come out of underfunded classrooms. Our teachers and our students deserve better.”
