LANSING — The following is state Rep. Christine Greig’s (D-Farmington Hills) statement on the incident involving a Farmington Hills student choosing to remain seated during the Pledge of Allegiance:
“I have been closely following the details of this incident over the last few days. I respect the student’s decision to exercise his rights and am proud of the response from our community and the school district in addressing this issue. We are a welcoming community with a long history of respect for differing viewpoints. I am encouraged that this will provide an opportunity for our community to learn and grow for the better.”
