LANSING — Today, the House Appropriations Committee defeated a number of amendments offered by House Democratic committee members, including an additional $150 million to fix our roads. In response, House Democratic Leader Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) issued the following statement:

“Republicans say they’re serious about infrastructure, but every time we ask them to prove it, they fail to take action. Michiganders are tired of the do-nothing Republican Legislature that lets our roads crumble, leaves our students without the resources they need to succeed, and with Michiganders paying the fifth highest prescription drug prices in the nation. In fact, the only thing Republicans seem to prioritize is giving away our water to corporations, despite families in Flint still being without access to this critical resource. Enough is enough. It’s time to put Michigan families first in our state budget.”
