LANSING — It was announced today that a settlement between the survivors of convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar and Michigan State University has been reached. In response, House Democratic Leader Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) issued the following statement:

“Today’s long overdue settlement is a positive step forward so that survivors and our community can begin to heal. However, there is still more work to be done to ensure we better protect survivors and prevent sexual assault in the future. We are indebted to these brave survivors, who despite being ignored, kept using their voices to create positive change. We owe it to them to continue working to make sure a tragedy like this is never repeated in Michigan.”
