LANSING — Today, House Democratic Leader Sam Singh issued the following statement in response to the 5-4 Supreme Court ruling in Janus v. AFSCME:
“Today’s Supreme Court ruling makes it clear that the rules aren’t working for working families in Michigan. The freedom to organize and negotiate together for better wages and a secure retirement are fundamental Michigan values — they are how we put the world on wheels and built the American middle class. I am not surprised that the same out-of-touch officials that supported slashing wages and taking health care away from working people would also support today's Supreme Court decision. I won’t forget the endless Republican attacks on the economic security of working families — and neither will my constituents.”
