“I’m grateful that the appeals court has decided to preserve straight-ticket voting in Michigan, and I'm hopeful that this decision will hold through the November election. Michigan voters have valued the option to vote a straight-ticket ballot for more than 100 years, including voting to keep it in a 2001 statewide referendum, and getting rid of it was simply a Republican political move to make voting more difficult and time-consuming. We should commit to making voting more accessible to citizens, rather than making it more difficult and time-consuming.”
