Statement from House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel (D-Auburn Hills) on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision upholding Affordable Care Act tax credits on the federal exchange:

“The U.S. Supreme Court made the right decision when it upheld the Affordable Care Act tax credits for people in states such as Michigan that rely on the federal health care exchange. The ability to affordably access health care is a cornerstone of a family’s financial security, which is why this ruling is so crucially important to the 228,388 people in Michigan who get tax credits to buy health insurance on the federal exchange. These credits, along with the Healthy Michigan Plan, provide health care to more than 800,000 Michiganders – many of whom had no health care at all before – and show that the Affordable Care Act works for Michigan families.”
