“Gov. Rick Snyder made the right call in deciding to accept federal dollars to expand Michigan’s Medicaid program. Currently, 12.7 percent of all of Michigan’s adults have no health care insurance at all, and thousands more have minimal coverage. By accepting federal funds to expand Medicaid, many of those people will soon have access to the best health care in the world. In addition, more seniors in our state will receive coverage for nursing home care. Accepting federal help to make health care accessible to more Michiganders was obviously the right choice and right decision for Michigan. I call on the House Republicans to join with House Democrats and our governor to support expanding access to health care for 470,000 people in Michigan.”
