“It’s deeply disappointing that the governor has chosen to sign Senate Bill 13 into law and end people’s option to cast a straight-ticket ballot. Hundreds of thousands of Michigan voters in both parties prefer voting straight-ticket. Taking this option away doesn’t solve any problems, but it will increase the amount of time it takes people to vote and lengthen lines at polling locations. This is just the latest of Republican-backed measures to make voting more difficult. Instead, we should be doing all we can to encourage more people to participate in our democracy.”
