The small businessmen and women who own party stores in my district have been good community members and many are well-integrated into the neighborhoods they service. I’m proud to have worked on a bipartisan bill package that will improve the way beer and wine retailers and wholesalers operate. Our plan passed the House today to allow retailers to use larger temporary displays and allow employee sampling for educational purposes, which would help better facilitate the operation of these small businesses. This plan also increases penalties for those who illegally import large amounts of beer and wine in the state. I look forward to seeing this package move through the Senate and on to the governor for his signature.
