“The unemployed people of our state were again let down by the Republican leaders of the state Legislature. We had a chance today to return the amount of time Michigan workers qualify for unemployment to 26 weeks. Instead, Republicans refused to let the bill out of committee. It was wrong for us to reduce unemployment to 20 weeks a year ago, and it was wrong not to restore it to 26 weeks today.”
