“I voted against House Bill 4052, which prevents local units of government from enacting wage and labor protection laws. Local units of government know what works best to keep their local economies thriving. Southfield is a large and significant contributor to the state’s economy, and is home to over 9,000 businesses, including more than 100 Fortune 500 companies. We also have a local living wage ordinance and other labor protection laws that demonstrate that workers’ rights and business growth aren’t opposing values.”
