LANSING — Today, House Republicans and Democrats introduced a bipartisan package of legislation to increase the transparency of state government. State Rep. Donna Lasinski (D-Scio Township) introduced House Bill 4009 in the package to specify how to separate exempt from non-exempt materials, and requires that non-exempt material be made available for review. In response, Rep. Lasinski issued the following statement:

“Michiganders deserve to know that their elected officials come to work every day to fight for them, not wealthy special interests. At a time when our state ranks last in transparency and ethics, this legislation is a long-overdue solution to making sure our government is accountable to the people we are elected to serve.”
