Statement from Rep. Townsend on the Republicans’ refusal to help the unemployed in Michigan

“Today, Michigan House Republicans again gave up a chance to show they care about more than 400,000 people in the state who are still unemployed. Republicans would rather let a bill to restore state unemployment assistance to 26 weeks die in committee than bring it to the floor of the house, where we could vote on it. It’s clear who Republicans in the Michigan House represent – and who they do not.”
