“I have been appointed to the workgroup to look at long-term costs borne by our local governments. I have spent my time in the Legislature trying to solve problems in Michigan, and I am excited to be part of a group that will take this on. We need to understand the causes of these costs, and we need to be able to recommend appropriate solutions without harming our retirees or employees who have done so much for our communities. I look forward to working with the governor’s office, other legislators, businesses, workers and our local governments to craft the best possible solutions.”
