LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder gave his final State of the State address tonight. In response, state Rep. Bill Sowerby (D-Clinton Township) issued the following statement:
“We need to do better because Gov. Snyder and the Republican majority’s policies have clearly not done the trick to make our communities attractive to businesses. Amazon just passed us over in part because of what they perceived as a lack of talent. That’s why we need to refocus on education and support our public schools, skilled trades, and higher education so students are prepared for these jobs. We’ll attract businesses and good jobs when we support our workers, invest more in public education, fix our crumbling infrastructure, protect our natural resources, and improve our quality of life.”
