LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder signed a $175 million supplemental road funding bill today. In response, state Rep. Darrin Camilleri (D-Brownstown Township) issued the following statement:

“Michiganders are in desperate need of better, safer roads for their communities, and it is time that the Legislature begin crafting solutions to provide them. Too many working people are being derailed by pothole-covered roads, forced to pay hundreds in costly car repairs and maneuver closures due to our crumbling infrastructure. While the supplemental will be a much-needed boost for road repairs throughout the state, it does not undo the damage that poor leadership in this state created when they passed an inadequate funding bill three years ago. I remain committed to providing real solutions to this crisis. Keeping Michigan drivers safe and helping them save more of their hard-earned money is my top priority, and I will continue working to ensure our roads receive the funding they need.”
