LANSING — Tonight, the House and Senate convened for a joint legislative session to hear Gov. Rick Snyder give his eighth and final State of the State address. In response, state Rep. Donna Lasinski (D-Scio Township) issued the following statement:

“As the governor works to establish his legacy after seven years in office, too many families throughout Western Washtenaw County are still struggling to experience a comeback. Instead, many families in my district are still without access to broadband. They struggle to travel safely along broken roads, and our schools still fail to receive adequate funding. In the coming year, it is critical that we put aside our partisan differences and work together to create a more equitable and prosperous Michigan for everyone.”
