“I am deeply disappointed that we continue to take money out of classrooms. The bill that made its way out of the House today does not address even one dollar of the enormous unfunded legacy pension liability. It merely shifts costs from state-negotiated and state-managed retirement plans into classroom budgets — shortchanging our students once again. We should be focusing on the serious problems in our state, like job creation and road repair, instead of ‘fixing’ an already funded retirement plan to make political points.”
