“I would like to thank Gov. Rick Snyder for making the right call in vetoing the ‘Choose Life’ license plate. A woman’s right to choose remains a divisive topic, and it would be absolutely inappropriate for our state to weigh in on one side of the debate by issuing a license plate that favors one side of the issue over the other. It is not the business of the Secretary of State’s office to help raise funds for advocacy groups, many of which go on to fund political causes and candidates. I’m glad that our governor understood how controversial and divisive it would have been to create this license plate, and opted to veto it.”
