“Emails from top aides and staffers, including former Snyder Chief of Staff Dennis Muchmore, indicate that the governor must have known about the concerns last spring. It is absolutely necessary that this committee require the governor to testify under oath. There was clearly a debate in the executive office, and his top aides were recommending action. Mr. Muchmore seemed to be on the losing side, and Gov. Snyder apparently chose not to act. If somebody other than the governor made the final call to ignore the pleas of Flint families, then the committee needs to know who that was. The idea that every one of his top staff were actively debating the Flint Water Crisis and that he was unaware is no longer credible.”
