LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder delivered his final State of the State address this evening. In response, state Rep. Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield) issued the following statement:

“As Gov. Rick Snyder outlined his list of accomplishments during his time in office, one thing he couldn’t include was making our state government more transparent and accountable. Michigan has long lingered at the bottom of the list in terms of ethics and accountability, and his term in office has done nothing to move the needle on that measure. I’m proud of my work during the last three years in the Michigan House of Representatives that brought together colleagues from both side of the aisle to pass measures to open the governor’s office to the Freedom of Information Act and to widen it to include the state Legislature. But I’m disappointed that the Senate has yet to take up the measure, and equally discouraged that Gov. Snyder hasn’t put his support behind it. I urge Gov. Snyder to join our efforts to make Michigan government open and transparent in his last year in office.”
