LANSING — Today, the Michigan House of Representatives unanimously concurred with the Senate to pass House Bill 4734, which will now go to Gov. Snyder for signing. The bill would revise the Michigan Election Law to extend certification timelines for county clerks and require county Boards of Canvassers to report ballot irregularities to the secretary of state. In response, state Rep. Jeremy Moss (D-Southfield), sponsor of HB 4734, issued the following statement:
“The integrity of Michigan’s elections will be more secure when this bill is signed into law. I am glad my colleagues on both sides of the aisle joined me to ensure the accuracy of our election certification process, and I hope Gov. Snyder will approve this bill swiftly.”
