“I voted against next year’s education budget, which would divert $462 million, or $309 per student, in K-12 education funding. We cannot continue to disinvest in our children’s education, and I will not support a budget that places corporate welfare above our children’s education.
“My plan to enact a graduated income tax that would cut taxes for 95 percent of Michiganders and raise up to $760 million in new revenue would increase K-12 funding, eliminate the need to raid K-12 funding, and help make Michigan a better place to live, work and raise our families.”
