“I cannot even begin to consider any changes to Michigan’s auto no-fault law until we have a full and open accounting from the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association (MCCA). The MCCA has never been subject to our open meetings act, and they have not had to open their books or explain how they determine the annual fee that every insured driver has to pay each year as part of his or her auto insurance policy. Until the MCCA comes clean about how they’ve been operating, we shouldn’t be talking about legislation to supposedly reform no-fault.”
