LANSING — Today, for the second time in two weeks, a coalition of legislators and community leaders proposed a series of no-fault auto insurance reforms to address high auto insurance rates in Michigan. In response, state Rep. Leslie Love (D-Detroit) issued the following statement:
“I am encouraged by the movement we’re seeing to reduce the astronomical cost of auto insurance in Michigan, and Detroit especially. Too many drivers can’t afford insurance but have to go to work. They get pulled over and face driver responsibility fees for lacking insurance, and they get trapped in a vicious cycle. Michigan drivers deserve relief from high car insurance rates, but they also deserve good coverage in case of an accident. I look forward to a bipartisan solution that can achieve both of these goals.”
