LANSING — Today, the House of Representatives voted on the One Fair Wage and MI Time to Care citizen ballot initiatives, which would increase the minimum wage and guarantee paid sick leave for all, respectively. The proposals passed. In response, state Rep. Patrick Green (D-Warren) issued the following statement:

“Michigan families have been struggling for years just to get by, which is why so many of them overwhelmingly supported the initiatives for a reasonable minimum wage and earned paid sick leave. When voters act on their right to propose laws, legislative leaders should respect that right. I have always stood on the side of working families and will continue to do so now, and that means holding leadership accountable if they try to gut these initiatives after the election.”
