LANSING – Today, Legislative Republicans passed two bills, SB 1171 and SB 1175, gutting the citizen-led ballot initiatives that were passed into law back in September. In response, state Rep. Patrick Green (D-Warren) issued the following statement:
“Despite what Republicans may claim, these attacks on Michigan’s workers do nothing to strengthen our state’s economy. We are at our best when our working families are allowed the freedom to earn strong wages and benefits. Republicans can attempt to justify this using the same thinly-veiled excuses they used when voting for extensive corporate tax breaks, but we know better.”
