LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder delivered his final State of the State address this evening. In response, state Rep. Robert Wittenberg (D-Huntington Woods) issued the following statement:
“Gov. Rick Snyder’s final State of the State address was less of a victory lap than it was a reminder of missed opportunities. Rather than prosperity, working families struggled to make ends meet from one paycheck to the next. Rather than improving our schools, we saw school districts dissolved and kids sitting in overcrowded and dilapidated school rooms. Instead of fixing our crumbling roads and infrastructure, we saw the tragedy of Flint and now more families scared of their tap water in West Michigan. This isn’t what a comeback state looks like — it’s a state that needs to do a lot better. I’m looking forward to helping the state go in a new direction and building a Michigan that works for everyone.”
